Deaf Talks is a series of presentations in ASL by Deaf people about something they know and love.  It is an unique opportunity to expand our language base through exposure to high-caliber language models in topic areas that weren't covered in the classroom.


Home Improvement &
Remodeling 

Shawn Broderick

Shawn has remodeled a variety homes over several years, built a wine cooler that holds over 2,000 bottles of wine, and knows everything from plumbing to replacing a light bulb.  
He will talk about home remodeling projects and basic household repairs like how to replace a toilet; repair broken tile; apply/reapply grout; improve dryer ventilation; hang pictures so they're straight; repair a leaky roof; level a house; and more!

Micro Home Brewing

Lester Morris

Lester will share his personal experience as a beer lover and home brewer, and the history of beer making.  He will explain the beer making process, different classifications and types of beer, and the regional differences in beer making drawing from his visits to US and international breweries.
