Metaphor in ASL

The PDC is sad to announce that this workshop has been cancelled by the presenter.  Please keep an eye out for other upcoming workshops.

Presented By:
Kristi Winter

Metaphors prevail in everyday language, English and ASL. Many ASL signs have abstract concepts that incorporate a visual image of a concrete thing or activity. ASL has a vast array of concepts that are linked by metaphor to concrete concepts; meaning can be expressed by visual images of concrete objects and actions. The goal of this workshop is for participants to explore, identify, analyze, and learn about metaphors as well as explore how they apply to interpreting.
